Probably from the Italian town of Asti, Facinus lectured on the Sentences 1361-1363 at Paris. He leaves Paris as baccalaureus formatus for Avignon (cf. Trapp) or Bologna (cf. Courtenay). One manuscript reads: et sic est finis huius primi Sententiarum complete et lecti per eximium sacre theologie doctorem magistrum Fastinum de Ast ordinis heremitarum s. Augustini et hoc a. D. MCCCLXIII die sexta mensis Maii.
